We have all been called to the harvest. Our commission is to "Go..." Too often we sit back and wait for the lost to come to us when it is our duty to reach out to them. Jesus said "...go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that My house may be filled." What Jesus did not say was "invite sinners to church and wait for the pastor to share the Gospel with them."
Although this is quite a heavy topic and offends people within the church building, we must listen to the infallible words of Scripture. Jesus told us that "the harvest is truly plenteous, but the laborers are few, therefore pray for the Lord of the harvest." Why would Jesus tell us that the laborers are few if every Believer was fulfilling the Great Commission?
With over 6 billion people in the world, less than 16 %* are considered to be Christian. Never has the harvest been so plenteous and the laborers so few. According to an Evangelical magazine, only 2% of what we commonly call "Evangelical" Christians actively share their faith. Nearly 2000 years ago, we were told in Scripture that "God commands men everywhere to repent." Since our God is an unchanging God, this still applies today and it is our duty to preach the message of repentance, salvation and faith.
Let us encourage you to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all of creation. With God for us, who can be against us? No longer should we be bound by the fear of man, but ready to give an answer to the hope that lies within us to everyone.
tats abt why God meant what he meant ... basically tis is for the labourers explaination ... the nxt i wanna talk abt is street evangelism .. so do listen up :P
Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world is truly a privilege as well as a commission. Through Scripture, Paul teaches us that the power of God unto salvation begins with hearing the Word of God. God's Word is alive and it has a transforming effect on lives when it is spoken or read. It is true that God's Word does not return void, for whenever or wherever His Word goes forth there is always a reaction.
The majority of Christ's preaching was done outside of the synagogue. From the Mount of Olives, to a boat in the middle of the sea, hillside or street side, Christ preached to the people using parables and the Old Testament to explain the Kingdom of God, sin, repentance and judgment, as well as the remedy for sin - righteousness in Christ. The spirit of the law and the true interpretation of the written Word is what Christ taught.
As true Believers we must follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior. Preaching on the streets may seem somewhat intimidating in the beginning, but as time progresses, through prayer and experience, street preaching will come more naturally.
Always keep in mind, we are instruments to be used by God through His Holy Spirit, and in order to be effective and efficient, we must obey His word. While street preaching, here are a few relevant Scriptures to keep in mind:
Matthew 10:16, Galatians 5:16-17, I Peter 2:11-12, II Timothy 2:24-26, II Timothy 2:16, II Timothy 1:7, Jude 1:20-25 and I Timothy 1:8-11.
Love God truely? den apply :P
